When I graduated from acupuncture school in 2000, it was hard to find any reference to pro athletes getting acupuncture. Now, it seems to be in the news all the time! This week it's Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat. He's been playing with knee tendonitis for the last few weeks and is getting acupuncture treatment every other day. Along with other modalities, he says that the tendonitis is improving. And he's joining the ranks of professional players in sports across the board who have used acupuncture to treat injuries and improve performance.

Since I started practicing acupuncture in 2000, I've had the thought - wow, it would be so cool to combine acupuncture
and hypnotherapy. And now, it's in the news! Dr. Andrew Weil of complementary medicine fame talks about the subject in a Q&A format for The
Vancouver Sun newspaper. Apparently, one study and several case reports have been published. More research on the synergistic effects of the two modalities
needs to be done in order for any conclusive results - to satisfy our scientific minds - but my intuition says that they would work magic together.
